Melvyn Marais has been in the funeral industry since 1992.
For the past 34 years he has been trusted within the community to help them grieve and plan the celebrations of lives lived. He traded as Nationwide Funeral Directors and in August 2018 registered the business, namely Melvyn Marais and Company (Pty) Ltd.
Melvyn Marais and Company (Pty) Ltd is dedicated to providing professional, sustainable and affordable services to the families nationwide and abroad, treating them with the utmost care and compassion.

We offer affordable services that help celebrate the life of your loved one while giving you several options for a public gathering, and a final resting place. We continually invest in our staff, premises and vehicles to ensure clients and their loved ones receive the highest standards of care in both client-facing areas and behind the scenes.
We know that choosing a Funeral Director can be a very difficult decision to make and if a loved one has just passed away and you need help arranging the funeral, our Funeral Directors are here to support you every step of the way.

Earth Burial
Earth Burial provides a permanent resting place for the body, and a solemn and meaningful memorial for the eternal soul. In many families, a child or grandchild may eventually find comfort in visiting the gravesides of family members. With burial, this is possible and the soul has a permanent resting place.
Cremation
Cremation gives you more freedom about how you honor someone's remains. The practice allows you to keep your loved one with you at all times if you so choose, or scatter them in a peaceful location of significance — both of which can be a great source of comfort for many families.
Memorial Service
A memorial service allows families to comfort and support each other during an extremely difficult time. By leaning on loved ones who share your pain and sadness, you will gain strength and hope for the future. It offers a sense of closure. It can be extremely difficult to accept the death of a loved one
